What is the age onset for nocturia?
A:

Nocturia can occur in people of all ages but it is more common amongst elderly.

Is nocturia a result of ageing?
A:

Are men more likely to suffer nocturia than women?
A:

According to research, the risk of nocturia is equal between men and women.

Is prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) the most common cause for nocturia in men?
A:

There are many different causes of nocturia and prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) is one of them. Other causes include nocturnal polyuria and reduced bladder storage. Please read Causes for further information.

What is the difference between nocturia and nocturnal enuresis?
A:

Nocturia: patient will wake up from sleep to urinate and subsequently go back to sleep

Nocturnal enuresis: patient is unable to wake up, but urinate during sleep (bedwetting)
